This And That

A little housekeeping first. Andrey asked me about my Twitter feed. I have a new Twitter account now at twitter.com/redpinemountain.
I’ve also decided to revamp my plan of doing comments for charity. Why? Last month, I barely blogged. Therefore, I’ve decided to make a 50.00 donation to each of the two charities I chose, The Search Dog Foundation and Save The Children.
For the month of May, I’m taking a new approach. The two people who leave the most comments on my blog will have a 25.00 donation made in their name to the charity of their choice.
Not much has been going on here. In fact, it’s been raining almost every day. But the rain hasn’t deterred turkeys, chickens and guineas from their goal of hatching eggs.

With all the rain, rivers are at the saturation point.

And I was worried about Mountain Man. He was in working in the Ozarks right in the midst of all the tornadoes. He had many tornado warnings and a few close encounters with monster hail but luckily the brunt of the storm went around him. But even with storms raging, Mountain Man continued work on the ranch. Here’s some more of the flooring he installed.

He came home with many stories to tell but best of all he’s home and back to work making more flooring. (Maybe you notice his hair is shorter. Yes, he had his yearly shearing and guess who did it? Me!)

And while Mountain Man is hard at work, I spend my time sharing secrets with Midnight.

And playing hide and seek with Cash.

And I wander parts of our farm where I never go. I found a small hidden glade.

And evidence of deer again.

And different views.

And new growth everywhere.

But my favorite view is when I head back home to the farm that I love, the animals who enrich my life and the Mountain Man I adore.

May all your days be filled with enchantment.
Thanks for joining us on Red Pine Mountain!

I think that was the first picture I’ve seen of you. Hugs!! :O)

Yeah, I’m with Diane–I think that is the first time I saw you too!
Tell me that turkey nest wasn’t built by them! That is one giant pile of hay and eggs!! But knowing your wacky group–it wouldn’t surprise me.

Oh, I love seeing photos of your farm. I had to laugh at the photo of the “deer evidence”
I went to a church retreat once deep in the mountains. My friends and I went walking. There were all sorts of piles of these funny rocks lying around. They didn’t tell me ti ll later that it was deer droppings
It’ll be nice to see turkey chicks on the farm. Hope all goes well with the turkeys and the eggs
I’ve never had a Twitter account. You’ll have to keep us posted on how that goes. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather

I was going to say the same thing Diane did. Nice to put a face to your blog. Love the haircut you gave mountain man too.
I love your farm much better when I don’t see snow. It’s beautiful.
Have a terrific day.

Is Midnight a new addition? What kind of horse? The flooring is gorgeous! Once a year haircut! So spring has sprung up your way?
Sounds like it is going pretty good for ya’ll!

It’s just beautiful on the farm and it’s nice to see you! I know you are happy that everything is lush and green and no longer covered in snow! I’m waiting for pictures of the new babies. How long des it take turkey eggs to hatch?

Welcome back, Mountain Man! So glad to see he’s back home again where he belongs! He only gets his hair cut once a year? That’s funny! I really like that picture of your hidden glade. It’s good to see the green on your farm again too! We are still having our rainy season in Cleveland but the sun is supposed to come out tomorrow, I think.
I didn’t know what charities you were donating to last month for comments. Those sound good though. Interesting that next month the two top commenters get to choose. I’ll mention it on “My Things I Learned This Week” post on Friday. .

The flooring is looking fantastic. And Mountain Man all trimmed up? It must be spring?
Glad things are greening up a bit for you and that you are enjoying getting out and about!

The house in the Ozarks looks beautiful! (sigh) Too bad I don’t have the money to buy it, I would love a house like that! (used to live in Oklahoma and the Ozarks aren’t too far off) But alas, I have a good job here in Virginia, so here is where I’ll stay. Thanks for all the beautiful pictures! Can’t wait to see all the eggs hatch! : )

Midnight is new, isn’t he? Or did I miss the post on when you got him.
How many horses do you still have?

So that’s what you look like! You seem to be a person like me, who almost prefers their own company to that of others. What a beautiful place you have. Thanks for sharing a slice of it.

That flooring is incredible! The wood reminds me of Hickory with a lot of character to it’s graining.
Both you and Mountain Man have done a lot of work to your lovely mountain home and it is just beautiful. Are you sure you still want to sell it ?
