The White Stuff Wars

Thanks everyone for your wonderful New Year wishes and comments.  They are treasured by me and Mountain Man.

I have the weather from the Northeast Kingdom constantly updating on my computer and as the temperatures have been dropping and the snow has started to fly, this has been the daily conversation between me and Mountain Man.

“Look, it’s snowing at home.  Isn’t that fantastic?”

“No.”

“Look, they have their first below zero day.  Aren’t you sad to be missing that?”

“No.”

“Don’t you want to go home?”

“No.”

Ah, well.  I’ve created a monster.  Before he met me, Mountain Man was unfamiliar with the milder weather outside of Vermont.

But I’m not the only one missing the snow.  Our dogs love winter and when they discovered we had snow on the ground this morning, they were delighted.  Here’s some photos.

12 year old Emma, a Canadian by birth, would sleep outside in the snow if we’d let her.

Lilly barks at birds flocking to the feeders.
Logan digging for his huck ball while Emma tries to cover herself in snow.

Lilly and Toby prepare for a game of chase.

Round and round they go.
Katie decides to join them.

And while Mountain Man is gazing out the window expressing his desire for the snow to move on, the dogs and I are hoping for more.

Let It Snow!

well when you are used to the snow it does not bother as much. Case in point my nephew Richie now lives and works on Long Island NY.it snowed a couple inches and several of his co-workes said that there is a blizzard going on outside. He looked out and said that aint nothing,go live in Clrvrland or Buffalo and you will know what a real blizzard is.Bless that young mans heart.

Hello–Glad you found me and that you find me to be positive. That is what I try to strive for on my little blog.
Love the pictures of your canine kids–very funny!
We are having more snow here as I type. It seem like the Christmas blizzard just won't give up–I realize it is a different system but……
I hope to see you more.

Love the snow but of course I'm not in it. Emma does look she is enjoying herself. Does Katie have a sweater? And we think it's freezing here, Florida is going to have lows in the 20s for about a week and highs maybe to 50. I love it but most don't! Stay warm!!

Surprisingly we've had snow here too. We just had a little, but it was great to see all around me as I did a long morning walk.

I with Mountain Man on this one. I don't want any part of snow, except for when it first starts to fall and get to play in it for the first few hours. Then it can leave.

I am also a snow lover along with my dogs, Dan & Otis :) We had about 12" in the last few days – everything looks and smells so clean and fresh. The dogs have had a great time rolling and running around in it. Even the ducks enjoy it….
Love your blog – Been to the Northeast Kingdom several times…God's country for sure.

Happy New Year ~

Snow is beautiful–I'll grant you that! But, snow on the steep hills of the greater Seattle area is not beautiful! When we get snow it is wet, and slippery, and hard to drive in unless a person has a 4-wheel drive! So give me pictures of snow any day–just don't give me the real stuff! :-)

Isn't snow lovely if you can stay at home and enjoy it ?! I love to go out in it when I don't have to, but I hate it when I have to drive somewhere.

We've had a bit of snow here too. This morning and every morning for quite a few days, there has been a hard frost so everything looks like it's been in a deep freeze :) Enjoy the snow!

Looks to me like you have plenty snow there. Fun to see how much your dogs like it! I'm with Mountain Man on this one, looking forward to spring already and no more snow! We got about 6 inches and that's way plenty for me with these temperatures in the teens. Brrrrr!

Congrats on getting a page rank 4!

I agree with Mountain Man. You want ours to add to yours? You can have the 2* weather to go with it. In exchange I'll take yours.

I'm with you, snow please! I couldn't imagine living somewhere that didn't have such a definitive change in seasons. Unfortunately, all of Southwestern Ontario has had a foot of snow, except in our area. We can still see the grass. Very disappointing and I'm not crazy about the mud that is still being tracked in.
