The Naked Neck

Thanks everyone for sharing what it’s like in your part of the country. It’s interesting to see how widely weather varies from place to place and hear how you are doing. It’s cold here and rainy in case you’re wondering.

Now on to the topic of the day; Naked Necks. No, not mine although I confess I do have quite the turkey wattle thing going on. This Naked Neck is a chicken breed so if you’re not familiar with them without further ado, prepare to be amazed or shocked or disgusted depending on your point of view.

A two day old Naked Neck!

Yes, her neck will stay naked but she’s quite adorable from the front.

I’ll share more pictures as she grows.

What a cutie pie. It’s hot here and we have great weather through October. So we are still enjoying summer.

Have a terrific day. :)

Cute little face ! Nature is amazing but I can’t help wonder what advantage the featherless neck would have ? Will she need a wee, wooly scarf in the winter ? Oh dear, now I can imagine you making her a tiny scarf to wrap around her bare, little neck during the bitter chill of winter. :D
