Sunset, Sunrise

Snowy days, cold days, gun metal gray skies. But it can’t last forever despite what Mountain Man says. I had faith it would move on and last night it did.
Right at sunset.

Pink piercing the gray.

Gentle colors filtered through trees laden with buds, anxious for warmth, tired of frost.

Morning. Time for barn chores. And look what awaited me.
World of mist, hints of blue.

Sun, so long absent, bringing all it illuminates into sharp relief.

Ephemeral mist.

Lending enchantment to our farm.

And I thought of this passage I had so recently read, written by Louisa May Alcott:
“Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them and follow where they lead.”
Today, I will walk into the sunshine and embrace it’s warmth.
What will you do today?

Today I will wish that I was back in the enchanted land in which you are blessed enough to live, and I will do my best to carry the serenity from that place with me, til I am there again.

Thanks.
I feel such a kinship with you in the way we enjoy our farms and what they have to offer. Have a great day.

Isn’t it wonderfrul? And your farm looks so magical in its lovely misty light. I can see why you left civilization for your mountain man and wonderful family and all the critters.

Wow. I was at first enthralled with your silhouetted sunsets, and then I came upon the misty photos. These are some of the best landscapes I have ever seen. At once both peaceful and eerie. I love the contrast of the sunlight on the shed and the trees obscured in the mist. And your prose is a perfect accompaniment. This is one of my favorite posts, EVER.

It’s raining here and will be for the next three days, so I’m going to try to stay indoors.
I love all the pictures and really like the ones with the fog. Beautiful. Enjoy the warmth.
Have a terrific day.

Those are just fantastic pictures! You should seriously consider framing them and possibly selling them. Maybe from an etsy shop?

It is warm and beautiful here today, but snow is suppose to come in on Friday and Saturday. I’m more than tired of winter.

That is a beautiful sunset. We are having some beautiful sunrises right now. I got a good picture the other day on my way to the bus stop to go to work which I think I’ll post this Thursday. I so pleased it turned out almost as good as it looked in reality, better than I thought it would..

I love foggy mornings. Actually I’d prefer all mornings to be foggy. I can’t exactly say why. Well, maybe it’s like a cool hug and all the cold water droplets going into my lungs make me feel fresh!
Loved you pink skies too.
