Skies of Beauty

I admit I haven’t been around much lately.  No, I can’t bear to be on the computer when the farm beckons.  I’ve been outside admiring the beauty of the waning winter.  I don’t really have adequate words to describe the exquisite isolation that is Red Pine Mountain but I’ll try to share some pictures.

Mountain Man is busy making flooring for the Ozarks ranch.

But I’ve been spending my time with Khrysta and in the woods.  I come across many old stone walls reminding me we are only caretakers of this farm for a moment in time.

Khrysta has been digging up shoots of grass.  Yes, spring is on its way.

While I’ve been admiring winter skies.

And the most magnificent cloud formations just before the sun sets.

Clouds so dense and puffy I can almost reach out and touch them. (No zoom lens needed.)

And I never get tired of photographing them.

And, just when I think it cannot become any more beautiful, the sky changes.

And a symphony of pink appears.

And, right before I shut the door and head into dinner, this is what I see.

Yes, I admit, I love this farm.  I guess because it speaks to my soul.

I am sure it speaks to your soul. That's what I'm getting anyway. Just enjoy it. It's beautiful and you are out of the hustle and bustle of the city. That's worth a million bucks on it own. :)

You have to wonder when you look at a stone wall.

It got there some how, somebody built it, how long ago, and why. A single stonewall can be a stepping stone to history.

I dreamed of you last night. I dreamed that you were you, but it was long, long ago. And you were there on your mountain. There was joy and everyday happiness…that is all I remember.

Then today you post about joy and happiness

I like the white puffy clouds–we've mostly had just gray ones here lately, but today it was sunnier at least and not so cold either! We can tell you love your farm!

Your part of the world is so different from my San Francisco skyline which I think is quite beautiful. There is no doubt that Red Pine Mountain, in its solitude and serene winter beauty, is truly, a gift from nature. You are blessed to live there and we are so fortunate that you share it with us. I don't think I would be able to stay there very long – it's just too quiet for me – but, believe me, I would love a respite for a few weeks or so. Sometimes, one desperately needs that kind of break from the noise and chaos of city life, to rest and rejuvenate and to get in touch with peace and true contentment.

It is so very beautiful, even in pictures. I would love to live in that isolation that makes you confer with nature so much. You are a blessed lady! I am quite envious.

Also, my new badge is up at my place if you want to replace the etsy one you have. Thanks!
