Thanks everyone for visiting us. I admit I haven’t felt like blogging lately and I apologize for not blog visiting either. I haven’t had much to say.
We’ve had strange weather here. No tornadoes or life threatening weather; just unusual. On Easter Sunday, it decided to snow.

By afternoon, the rain started and washed the snow away and it’s still raining. But it’s beautiful and to see green again is delightful. There’s something magical about the way mist rises off the mountains.

There’s still piles of snow around. But they are disappearing and grass is taking their place.

And there’s snow under pathways of pine.

Streams are rushing; filled with melting snow and so much rain.

And I’ve discovered turkeys like nothing more than digging in the mud.

But they’ve also been busy laying eggs. Here’s a picture from the first week of egg laying.

And here is how the nest looks now. You can’t see it because I didn’t want to disturb the eggs but there are now at least 50 eggs in this nest hidden in holes in the hay; layered gently on top of each other. It’s been fascinating to watch them build this multi layer nest.

I’ve learned turkeys lay dozens of eggs before they actually sit on them and the eggs can last up to three weeks before the hens need to sit. They are taking turns sitting on them off and on but they are still busy building more layers and adding more eggs. I’m hoping for enough turkey poults to start a football team.
Spring is here at long last.
I hope to catch up with all of you soon and I really appreciate the time you take to visit.

I’m glad your finally getting to see green instead of all that white. Enjoy.
Have a terrific day.

I think we are all Vitamin D deficient up here in the Northeast. Hoping for a big turnout with all those turkey eggs for you. Can’t wait! :O)

Well, you sure did find something to blog about, and I know how you feel, I haven’t been in to much of a blogging mood myself. I keep telling myself that the same old stuff gets boring after a while. I do find something to blog about though when I try hard enough!

What on earth are you gonna do with all those turkeys????! I can’t believe how many they lay. Yikes! Oh, the things I learn from you, Sara!

The dog looks like it’s made of cement… to just get covered with snow that way. Funny!

EVERYBODY on the blogs is saying they don’t feel like blogging! I guess there’s too much to do outside now that spring is here.

Heavens, that’s a lot of eggs. Looks like it’s going to be quite crowded around there! How long does it take for turkey eggs to hatch? You have a regular turkey maternity ward going!!

Sara girl, you are well on your way to starting up the Red Pine Mountain Turkey Farm. If the girls keep it up you’ll soon have turkeys for as far as the eye can see.
I’m not sure what it is but “blog-icitis” seems to be prevalent this Spring and many bloggers, including myself, just seem to feel drained of enthusiasm. I’d like to say that this is also the reason I’ve been neglecting my Etsy shop but the truth is I’m not quite sure where I’m going to take that little shop. I started out trying to sell my handcrafted jewelry there and after several unsuccessful months turned to selling jewelry making supplies (of which I had plenty, since I purchase through wholesale sources and have to purchase in bulk). However my heart isn’t into selling beads and findings as much as it is into creating jewelry. I listed a couple of pieces a few months back but it is a repeat of my first attempt at selling jewelry on Etsy…nothing…nada, zilch…zip !!!
So for the last few weeks I’ve done nothing with etsy and my listings are slowing expiring. I may just mothball the shop for awhile and see how I feel about it in a couple of months.
I do want to thank you for your lovely remarks about my handcrafted earrings I had featured on my blog. They took a lot of thought and work but I was very happy with the way they turned out. I didn’t list them in my shop as I know I can sell them at a local gallery for a lot more and much faster. Jewelry is one of those items that sells better in person than in photos.
It is so nice to see your pretty mountain awakening from its winter nap.

When those little guys hatch you’ll really have a following–a real parade. It might be a bit noisy, but cute. You have a wonderful blog and your scenery is a real pleasure. Thanks for sharing.

I think it’s the weather that’s affected all of us! We’ve had an unusually wet, cold spring. I haven’t had much to say, either!
Those turkeys are an interesting bunch!
