Pictures From Dusk

I’m going through a period when I’m reevaluating how I spend my time and why I do the things I do. Nothing major; just a time for reflection and I haven’t felt like blogging. Still, I always think about you, my readers, and often when an evening is particularly beautiful, I wish you were here to see the clouds and the contrasts between shadows and light which is unique to Vermont summers.
Yesterday was a day of extremes, humid to cool, rain to sun, and it made for a fabulous dusk. I suppose I could Photoshop my pictures and manipulate the images in a variety of ways but I want you to see our farm as I see it; a special place during an all too brief summer.

Thank you as always for your kind comments. They are always the highlight of my day.

that’s it.
I am officially full of location envy.
You are truly blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the country.

What glorious light!! No, I don’t think there’s any need to Photoshop

I love the photos…oh, and about time etc..you have to do what you have to do
Family always comes first!! These photos were great. Some of the shots reminded me of Oregon when the skies decide whether or not to rain. Right now it’s officially hot Oregon summer!!! Hugs

I wouldn’t alter a thing. You can mess with perfection. Just saying.
The book arrived safely. Now to find the time to read.
Have a terrific day and weekend.

Your photos look like they should be at the top pages of a calendar. Beautiful! I put up a picture of the horse purse I made if you want to take a look.

Maybe you should stop posting such beautiful pictures. Because every time all I want to do is run away and live with you. Which would be great for us…but I think the rest of my family would have a serious problem with it. I think of you every day too. Whether you blog or not, I adore you.

Why in the world would you want to Photoshop such perfect pictures???!!!!
I adore that time at dusk when the conditions are JUST right and the world is bathed in vivid color.
I’ve been prioritizing lately, too, and found I may have to cut my blogging down to once a month. I hate it, but it just seems there are not enough hours in the day. Right now, here I am visiting my favorite blogs, when I should be sleeping. I’ve had four hours and I know I’ll pay for it tonight at work. Something has to go, and since work pays the bills, it’ll probably have to be blogging.

What breathtaking scenery and lovely photos! I would much rather see your photos in their untouched up form. The only time I touch my own photos up is when my photographic skills don’t quite match what I am seeing!
My favourite post is the second to last one with the long grass. I would love to lie down in it with a pillow and a good book.

Beautiful, relaxing pictures! I love them all but those Daisy flowers are just breath taking.
Have a great weekend.

It’s so hard to follow doctor’s orders. After my five day hospitalization for cellulitis in my right lower leg, I’m supposed to be horizontal most of the time, with my foot up on pillows and NOT at the computer. I got so behind blogging, reading blogs and comments, etc, that I was only going to be up for an hour – now three.
Your pictures are spectacular, trees, sky, clouds, flowers – total beauty. You are an amazing photographer. I loved the interlude with you.
At 65, I’ve done it! My poetry book – Life’s Journey by Carmen Henesy – is out on Amazon!
( Poems about the things that have been important to me in my journey through life, some humorous, some sad, some that may have meaning to you as well )

No Photoshop needed here. The light that is shining upon your barn doors is magical, such a beautiful glow.
I hear ethelmaepotter loud and clear… my new job is helping to pay my bills and now I’m getting behind on my blogs. But alas, I do need the money to pay the car payment, etc., so the job must be a priority for the time being. Hopefully in the future, this will change. *fingers crossed*

All of these shots are extraordinary. Dusk is my favorite time of day and these shots depict exactly why. They are wonderful

Oh that fantastic, thisclose to Heaven Vermont sky! I miss it when I’m not there, and can’t take my eyes off of it when I am there. Thank you for sharing the beauty that is truly Vermont. You’re darn good at it!

@Mountain Woman, I wouldn’t even know how to use photo shop. I’m just a point and click Easyshare kind of guy. Every day brings reflections and re evaluation for me.
Our culture pulls at us in many different ways to earn, to buy, to own, to consume, but my priority is on relationships whether it be family, friends, or relatives. This season of life has taught me to smell the roses (or daisies) from time to time.
I too have had to evaluate how much time will be spent on blogs wheither reading or blogging. There are so many interesting blogs to read. Yours happens to be one that I just don’t want to give up. Your mountain farm has the best scenery and I can certainly see why you both dont’ want to give it up.
I will miss your frequent blogs but I certainly understand about priorities. Enjoy your view, be healthy, and I’ll catch you in the next post whenever it is.

No need for photoshop!! Enjoy every ounce of summer!!!

The gray sky with its threat of rain and then the perky white daisies tucked into their bed of vibrant rich green (with just a splash of pretty purple) reminds us of just how wonderful and important those rainy days are.
You speak of a short summer in your mountain paradise, while down here, in the deep southern Dixie state of Florida, we are bemoaning about the prospect of a very long and terribly hot summer. Amazing what a little elevation can do for the climate. I’ll be thinking of you enjoying your cool mountain air, while I swelter in our tropical heat and humidity.

Beautiful photos. A little reflection now and then, is a very good thing:-)

There’s a place for photoshop pics, but mostly I prefer photos as they really are.
The pictures brought to mind a really good short movie I liked… In the Gloaming, directed by C.Reeve. I always remember the line in the movie about “the gloaming time”… that time of longing between night and day.
