As you have noticed, I have left Entrecard. I enjoyed my time there, I made lots of friends and I’ll always be grateful for the amount of traffic Entrecard directed to my blog. But due to time constraints at the moment, I canceled my account. I decided not to leave the widget for reasons of my own. I hope you will still visit me.
I have been spending lots of time on Facebook and I enjoyed it but I never imagined it would become a blogging resource. I had lots to learn.
My first friend was Jamey and then Karen Zemek. Stacy Kimmel of “Behind the Bit” found me and thanks to her, I discovered about the Networked Blogs on Facebook. Many of you are using this feature and I urge those of you who are not to give it a try. You will reach an entirely different audience than just us bloggers. Now Chris and her husband, Sketch, are there as well. And, the list is continuing. To me, it is a different way of keeping up with the blogs I enjoy and discovering other blogs tailored to my interests without having to spend the day dropping cards.
I’m busy reading my writing class assignments and then next week class will begin. I’ll be posting to my blog a couple of times a week and I’ll be visiting yours as well. But, if you need to find me, just go to Facebook.

Thanks for the info. I have been avoiding face book like the plague. There are so many horror stories about ID theft on our news, and people being fired because of face book comments. But maybe one day I will drop by and visit it.
Until then, love your posts, thanks.
Jen

What a wonderful photo on your header. I will choose to think of it as a sunrise, not sunset. The beginning of a new year. I’ll be checking back frequently.

Thanks for the information on Facebook. My wife has an account there to just spend time with her family ( a lot of her nieces and nephews are on Facebook). I guess I might just give it a try. Yes, I will be dropping by as I am Following your blog (this makes me sound like a stalker). Have a great day and thanks again for the info:)

I ditched EntreCard, too. Pain in the you-know-what. I will not miss it at all, nor will you.

I am finding the entrecard takes to much time to maintain. I am only going to it every other day or so now. I like finding new sites to read but it take too much time. Plus that threat of virus lurks out there as well. So I totally get it! I have a facebook account and will look for you there instead!

I haven’t’ really used facebook much, but keep saying I will. I sort of feel like getting rid of the EC widget too, I’ve buried it as far down my page as possible. I just don’t like dropping cards on sites I have no intention of reading, because then it just feels like a traffic exchange.

I have been thinking about entrecard a bit…
Good luck with class

Thanks everyone for your thoughts.
I enjoy our conversations.
Muddy Boot Dreams, I’m on Facebook as Red Pine Mountain but you do have control over who sees your information and you can decide what information you divulge. I think the problems come from young people who post photos and things that employers deem inappropriate.
Cedar, the photo comes from a beautiful summer afternoon sky. We had rain showers and then this amazing scene appeared. I recorded it and took so many pictures. It was an awesome experience. Yes, the beginning of a new year, the beginning of each day, all things are possible.
Tahtimbo, I LOVE your blog. I read it every day on Entrecard and now that I’m not so focused on dropping, I’ll have more time to stop and comment. Thanks for following my blog.
DayPhoto, thanks for emailing me
Latigo Liz, I don’t miss it at all either. I can’t believe how much time I have in my days now.
Julia, It does take a lot of time to maintain card dropping. The viruses the past couple of weeks (which had never happened before)helped me make my decision.
Alan, To keep up with my dropping, I learned how to block images so pages would load more quickly. Then, I’d go back and return to my favorite blogs and allow their images to load. I figured what in the heck am I spending my life like this. I’d rather have people read my blog or not but not just drop and run. Each and every card in my box felt like an obligation and I know lots of people think that’s silly but that’s how I am.
Cactus Jack, thanks for the good luck wishes

I have wondered about FaceBook also. If I ever get any more time I will check it out.
Good luck with your writing class. I know you will enjoy it.
Have a great day.

I understand about entrecard card. It does take up time. I haven’t made it to Facebook yet, but I may give it a whirl in the near future. I will still be dropping by regularly for my visit to your mountain. Yours was one of the first blogs that I read regularly
So it is a joy to visit your blog. I wish you all the very best with your writing class

Hey:
Thanks for the encouragement and words; I hope you still stay w/ Blogger even though you’re Face Booking. I just have a FB account; nothing added. Blogger is my “thing”…
Love your header photo… take care and talk soon… ~~Blog hugS~~

I’ll definitely still be visiting EC widget or no – you are in a bookmark folder called “Must Reads”, so don’t worry.
I’m not big on Facebook, but I’ll check it out – I totally agree with you that time is better spent finding blogs you enjoy reading and that are more in your niche than senseless “dropping”. I do still drop, but I only do a lot of dropping once or twice a week – I too am spending my time more effectively by looking for ways to find people who actually want to READ my blog.

I’ve been on Facebook for a few months but don’t use it much. I’ll look you up and add you. I don’t blame you for leaving Entrecard.

Thanks to you, I’ve rediscovered Facebook for blogging. I couldn’t see it’s usefullness until you let me in on the Networked Blogs link. It’s always good to list your blogs in several communities and not rely solely on 1 place like Entrecard. Good luck with your classes

I haven’t joined the blog network because I have family on facebook that don’t know about my blog and I would like to feel free to complain in my blog with out hurting any of their feelings. Thanks for letting me know about it because I actually had no idea about that application. see you on FB!

I’ll miss you on Entrecard but will still visit since I have you on my blogroll and follow you through blogger. I’ll just have to remember to use that when I visit my blogs. I understand about the time factor and some day I may chuck EC too, but for now I still feel there’s a lot of people out there yet in this EC community who haven’t seen my blogs yet. I use the campaign feature to reach new readers which has been successful. Once my following gets as large as yours, then I too will be able to leave EC, but until them, I will continue to do the drops and keep on exploring new blogs. I do enjoy doing that! I never just drop and run without at least glancing through titles of posts on new blogs I find. One day I’ll probably join Twitter too.
