Katie, my whippet, had an injury recently which turned out to be a torn anterior cruciate ligament. She had surgery on Tuesday and now she is home. Thank goodness, she is doing well. I have her in a crate with her favorite pink blankets and her stuffed animals. She is resting comfortably and on the road to recovery.
It’s been in the 60s here all week with day after day of sunny weather and we’ve been trying to enjoy every minute of it because we know it won’t last.
I’m considering leaving Entrecard. I’ve found wonderful blogs and made great friends by card dropping but now it is more of a chore than a pleasure and it seems to take hours of the day that could be spent elsewhere.
If you are an Entrecard member, I’d like to know what you think of card dropping. Do you have a specified number of drops you do each day?
What a beautiful dog! And so sweet looking. I have have not ever seen a whippet. Are they like a greyhound?
Anyway, she is just beautiful!

ENTRECARD is a great idea and I can give it credit for a lot of valuable networking, some great discoveries, and a handful of wonderful people I’ve established on-line relationships with. I keep doing it because I don’t see an alternative. As you say, it really takes up your time! I have placed links with logos on my page to three sites that I follow,support,and care about. They stay there all the time and serve as “free” advertisements for some bloggers that I have made a connnection with. Check it out.

that is a sweet picture, I hope Katie feels better soon. I finnally had to leave entracard, but i think it is great for some one just starting out, but now I have more time to actually read blogs and leave comments. Leaving comments I have made even more friends than I did with entracard.

I’m glad to hear your dog will be okay.
Oh, I hope you don’t leave Entrecard. So what if you don’t do drops everyday! There’s no law that says you have to. I would have never found your blog probably without Entrecard, although sometimes I will check out blogs of people who comment if it especially interests me.
I just try to return my drops on busy days and explore new blogs when and if I feel like it. I don’t worry about dropping the maximum number each day. Even if you don’t do drops every day, it doesn’t hurt to keep your Entrecard.

Ooh, I hope the puppy’s okay. My sister is a vet surgeon, so I have a sensitivity to these things now.
As for EntreCard, yeah, it’s a chore some days. But my traffic is WAY up and I’m at a point where I can pick and choose who to spend my 300 drops on. That helps keep it fun for me. Please don’t leave!

I wish Katie a speedy recovery.
I am also thinking of leaving Entrecard. I have dial up and I just can’t return all the drops I have sometimes. It is impossible unless I spend all day on the computer.
I have enjoyed visiting and finding some wonderful blogs through it though.
I see where a lot of the entrecard is just rushing through trying to drop as many cards as possible without even looking at the person’s site.
I guess it is according to how much time each person has to spend on it.

Sorry to hear about your dog, I hope she’s youngish ?
I drop about 25 a day……most days a lot less. I actually just looked and did 29 today.
You could always just sink the EC widget way down on your page.

Aw, Katie looks so sweet, like a baby. I hope she improves quickly!
As you know, we decided to leave Entrecard. I was spending way too much time each day dropping and still couldn’t reciprocate on everyone and that made me feel bad. It was fun, though … at least until I started feeling a bit overwhelmed between that and personal stuff.
I met a lot of great friends through EC!

As for Entrecard, I can totally understand about the time it takes. It does get overwhelming sometimes, but as others say, it is a great place for discovering new blogs and connecting. I have lately just scaled back a bit on the dropping so that I can get other things done and have time to comment. So I think this will work for me. I hope that you don’t leave Entrecard, but even if you do, I will still definitely be stopping by. I love visiting you here and I love when you visit me. By the way, I have added you to my blogroll

I just found out that my new dog is part hound family – great dane
I like ec because I meet new people and get more traffic to my blog. My routine is to drop back on everybody in my inbox. If I don’t have enough, I’ll go thru the campaign feature and drop on blogs I like from there. I usually stay at around 200 drops a day. But I do have a lazy day – Saturday. I do not even go on the computer, just to take a day off

I found you through Entrecard! I never had a set amount of drops I did and I don’t worry all that much about advertising. But I keep it going because every week or so, through EC, I stumble upon a new find that I may not have ever seen without it. So I’ll leave and continue my blasee (sp?) way of dropping. No pressure and I don’t want it to be a chore.
I am so glad your beautiful baby is okay. She looks so adorable cuddled up in her blankets.

I drop between 10-15 somedays. 2-3 others. I have three blogs that are enough work without worrying about dropping. It is a pain! I like to stop and read and comment. But, too, I only found your through Entrecard, so thank goodness for that!

Cool Dog! Hope everything is ok with her. As for entrecard, I just limit myself – I don't spend hours & hours on it. Usually maybe 20-25 drops a day. If you do leave tho, I'll keep checking in ever so often.

I’m glad to hear that Katie is recovering (she looks like a sweet dog) and that you’ve been enjoying beautiful weather.
As for Entrecard — I feel your pain. It’s been a great way to find other fantastic blogs (after all, I think it’s how I found you and Dori, Lux, and Susan among others), but it takes away from all kinds of things, like reading and writing. I’ve added some of my favorite blogs to Google reader so I don’t miss the stuff I really like.
The rise in traffic in great, connecting with other people across the globe is great, too, but I think it’s time to take writing more seriously. That said, it will probably take me a while to extricate myself.

Poor puppy!!
I try my best to drop everyday, but it obviously doesn’t always work out. If I have a good amount of time on my hands, I can go through a hundred blogs in one night (that’s between two different EC accounts)

Entre is not a bother to me at all. When I’m over at someone’s blog I drop a card. I haven’t gone out of my way to drop cards since my first week as a member. I think you may be obsessing over it a bit.LOL!!!

doing three hundred a day can be a drag but I have met so many great bloggers and visited so many great sites that I think its worth it. take a break from dropping whenever you need to, but keep your widget and let folks drop on you.
