Thanks so much for all of your comments. They keep me going when I’m far from home. I have to admit although I appreciate the warmer weather, I’m homesick and pining away for our farm. But Mountain Man is making progress. He finished the second bedroom and has moved on to the living room and soon he’ll be tearing off the front of the house for the new expansion. And because he’s moving at such a rapid pace and the dogs and I are underfoot, we have decided to head back to Vermont in the next couple of weeks if the weather permits.
Here’s some photos from the living room:
Mountain Man thinking about the new layout. We’re moving the wood stove to a different part of the room.
Our resident cardinal is always curious about the rennovation.
Mountain Man has rewired the entire house. The scariest part was he found evidence of a small fire in some of the old wiring.
A video to give you an idea of what it’s like to live in a construction zone.

He's so talented he doesnt have to have to do the "measure twice and cut once" rule!!
Just saying….why do you want to go where there is cold and snow? Stay warm where you are!!
Hubs was in your neck of the woods over the weekend. He was enjoying up the warmer temps without a coat on!!!

It's great that your hubby is so very talented. My husband could plan just about anything, but don't give him any tools to work with. He's just not clever with those kinds of projects. Sure does cost us a lot of money too. Oh well, It will be great to see some of the finished rooms down the road. Have fun.

The cardinal's so cute and your husband always amazing, but the bugs in the wall…argh!

Oh yes, I am living in one of those construction zones, again. Isn't it great?!!
I love that wood stove and the red bird!
Have a great day.

It's great that you get to move back to your farm!
I cannot get over how much work Mountain Man has accomplished. Again, I have to say that he is extremely talented and from the rate he's going, he might be finished by the time you leave

It seems you are always discovering new things there–dead ladybugs in the wall–EWW! The Cardinal is pretty though!
I'm sure you miss your farm and can't wait to return to your beautiful mountain. Home is where your heart is.

He sure does work quickly and it looks like quality work too! If you head north,.. safe travels to you! We're having a January thaw right now,… it's been great.

Is this house that MM is remodeling a log cabin? It kinda looks like it might be from some of these pictures.
Very interesting!

I lived in a construction zone for six whole weeks ( I know, silly comparison!) and I wanted to die. The family would go off every day and I was left with the mess, the noise, the destruction, the stress. I only cried twice though. I feel your pain.
Hang in there!

Its going to be beautiful when he is all done, can't wait to see the finished product!

Your Mtn Man is a work horse that is for sure. What the heck is he going to do when all your projects are done??
I can see glimpses of some nice details which are coming together and know you will have a great place when all is finished.

You are keeping him very busy, I see. The little red bird is sweet. We don't have those in Washington or Arizona.

I think it is really nice that you guys are recycling a house with such love and care. Great that the lady bugs are evicted xx safe trip

The place is looking awesome. He is doing a great job and I'm sure it is going to look very nice when it's done.

I have great respect for anyone who has the knack of DIY. I'm limited to changing a plug – And that's a risk!

Whew, Mountain Man in action…with a little canine assistance.
I like the cardinal, too. Does he ever try to smash into the window? We once had one that did that repeatedly all summer.

Lots of great progress! He seems so precise in all his work. :O)

MM is so industrious and talented! The cottage is looking great.

Coming home in time for mud season?
I had one of those lady bugs crawling on my shoulder in bed the other night. I hate that- I convince myself it's just the sheet and then I finally feel the darn thing, automatically squish it trying to get it out and then p.u.!
The work on the house is absolutely beautiful. So jealous (had fantasies about doing that to our old farmhouse but farm life gets in the way).
