Mountain Man Mondays; Gone Before Dawn

Life is never dull here on Red Pine Mountain.  Just when I was sure we’d be here for the winter and even bought a new pair of snow boots, Mountain Man returned from the Ozarks and expressed his desire to spend the winter there.  Maybe it had something to do with the balmy weather where he worked in shirt sleeves all week.  Whatever the reason, we’re going.  I could have said no but I didn’t.  It’s too important to him.

Mountain Man was busy last week working away from the farm.  As soon as that job was over, he started loading the trailer with the heavy equipment he’ll need in the Ozarks this winter.  Once the trailer was loaded, he refilled the wood shed for me and prepared my meals and off he went this morning before dawn. This will be a quick trip though.  Just one week and when he returns, we’ll all be on our way, including the dogs and Khrysta.

I needed hay so we headed into Lyndonville on Sunday.  Here’s the photos:

Just a usual day on the interstate.

Beautiful vistas in the distance.

Love the yellow porta potty!

I didn’t know the Dog Pound was there.  Mountain Man would not let me go in.

Hay!  It’s cheaper this year.  $3.75 a bale.

Mountain Man selects just the right bales for Khrysta.

A different route home.

The St. Johnsbury Country Club and golf course.
Mountain Man busy at home on his tractor.
Last night, a huge flock of birds migrated overhead.  Maybe they are on their way to the Ozarks?

My last full moon on Red Pine Mountain until next Spring.

I have learned the only certainty in life is change.  Here’s to the adventures ahead.

Was the picture on the roads taken during rush hour? I found the picture very disturbing as there were no discernible sidewalks to the side of the road. Left me scratching my head.

In other news I blew up my blog template yesterday which forced a move on me! You got to the Ozarks for the winter, it looks like I'm off to wordpress for the same…

and with out googling this is what I know about them….

Nothing. The only thing that comes to mind is the Appalachians…but then I don't know anything about them either

Well, if we have a really hard winter this year, at least I'll know who to blame. Of course, what we consider a hard winter may be just about right for spring for you-all. After all, I spent 5 days in Burlington when it never got above 20 below, and the people around there didn't seem to think it was all that big of a deal. Severe ice storms can catch the attention of even northern Vermonters, however.

What an adventure you will have. I don't like being away from home; I miss my "kids" too much. But when have to travel, if I could take them all with us, I think I would be fine!
And you get to have all of us with you, too!
I love following you. Your posts always make my day :)
