More Fall and Name that Mare

Here in the Northeast Kingdom, we had peak color this weekend and our world turned from gold to a brilliant red. Words elude me as I think about the mountains in all their glory. I said goodbye to the online world, card dropping and blogging and spent the weekend out in nature, wandering our trails and savoring the beauty of life. It was a weekend of color unlike any I have experienced before. I wish I could have captured the beauty of it all for you but here are some photos that don’t do justice to the experience.

And, to add to the excitement, we have a new resident of Red Pine Mountain, a three year old, palomino Morgan mare. Her official name is “Red Rose Pamela” but I’d like to giver her a different name for every day use; something in keeping with the beautiful, spirited girl that she is so I’m asking my readers for suggestions to “Name that Mare.”

Peak color time comes early in your part of the country! We won’t be experiencing the colors for another couple weeks at least, maybe later because it’s been warm so long into September this year. Who could blame you for casting aside your computer and the indoors in favor of enjoying all that nature has waiting for you on your lovely mountain. There’ll be plenty of time to be inside soon enough.

I don’t blame you at all for wanting to be outside enjoying the beautiful scenery all around you instead of being attached to the computer. Good for you! I should really spend more time outside before the winter comes.

So cool you have a new mare! My name suggestion is Perky.

Beautiful fall color — something I miss in the land of few seasons, Northern California.

Beautiful mare, too, though I don’t have a great name suggestion.

I love your fall color. We are just barely getting a little color on our trees here. It is nice to see how it looks up your way.

I do like Red Rose Pamela. Nice name.
How about Pammy? My Grandmother’s name for me!
Have a good day.
Pam

We don’t get much of that in Fla…the leaves tend to go from green straight to brown :(
As for the mare, what about Rosie?
