Meanwhile…

I’ve been missing from the blogging world while I try to rest my eyes and allow them to heal. So far, this time, my recovery is going slowly and now both eyes are having problems but despite the fact I have to stay relatively still, I have been enjoying our incredible fall weather. Day after day has dawned bright with sunshine and warm temperatures. Hard to believe it’s mid-October.

We had a coyote visit us in search of a chicken dinner.

He wasn’t scared of me at all when I yelled at him to leave; just stood there looking at me until one of the donkeys came along and chased him out of the pasture. I haven’t seen him since.

Speaking of birds, my pea hen? cock? is growing. I’m not exactly sure what kind s/he is or if the brilliant golds will turn into green as s/he matures.

Our sunsets have been magnficent.

And our days filled with color.

No matter which way you look.

Today, our string of sunny days has come to an end. Rain is falling and a mist is rising from the mountains. The colors are almost gone. Just a few reds and burnished golds remain.

But, oh, the beauty of fall in Vermont.

The clouds are sitting low over the pasture. I never get tired of our ever changing clouds.

I turn and look back at our home and think of winter so close at hand.

But not yet.

It’s an exquisite beauty, fall in Vermont. Transitory and breathtaking and I’m so glad I’m here to see it.

Thanks for visiting us. What is it like where you are?

I’m sorry to hear your eyes are not any better. It seems like a long time since the problem started again. Looks like you still have LOTS of red leaves yet! Your surroundings are beautiful. During the day since I’m at work, mostly all I see are a lot of buildings. If I go out on break or lunch and walk a little bit, I can see a few trees here and there. We had a very good stretch of warm weather with sun, but that has ended and now we are hovering around 60 degrees with rain and gray skies.

I can only imagine how frustrated you are about having to take it easy and be as still as possible, this is especially difficult for anyone who is as active as you normally are. Hope your eyes get better soon.

I’m curious to see what the little pea – hen/cock will grow up to be, either cock or hen I know s/he will be loved in Sara’s Red Pine Mt. Poultry Paradise.
Speaking of paradise, I am loving your beautiful photos of Autumn’s glory in Vermont. Breathtaking.

Take care dear girl, we are all praying and wishing you our very best.

Sara, the fall weather here in Nebraska is wonderful but I know that it won’t last forever. The next week will be garden and yard cleanup. All my yard trees have finished with the leaf fall but the maple trees in the neighborhood are still in full fall color. They usually don’t lose their leaves until the first part of November. It has been an interesting year weather wise in Nebraska but we have not had any extreme weather. The flooding along the Missouri river came from the mountains that feed the river so I really don’t count that as Nebraska weather. The waters have resided and the road repair has begun. I don’t expect that the Interstate roads north or south from my city will be repaired any time soon. Because of being under water so long the entire road bed and concrete will have to be repaired. It’s still a real mess. Hopefully your water damaged road has been repaired by now.

Have a great Vermont fall day.
