No Mountain Man Mondays yesterday. Mountain Man has been busy getting ready to go on a trip and I’ve been helping him (or at least keeping the dogs out from under his feet) and there’s been little time for the computer. I’m also still catching up with all your kind comments. And, I’m working on a very special 100th blog post and I hope you’ll join me for the celebration Red Pine Mountain style.
I do have a question for those of you who are using Entrecard. Would you still visit my blog if I removed the widget? I don’t want to be rash and just leave but I’m having some difficulties embracing the change because the widget changes from the “paid” ad to the advertiser who has used credits with each page view. I’d like to get my readers’ input.

I’ll still be here! There’s been a bunch of emails floating around about leaving–pros and cons. I’m on the fence too, but was concerned when one friend mentioned a loss of 90% of his traffic. I’ve already got you bookmarked, so you can count on me!

I will still visit you. I reserved judgement over the Entrecard change, but I’m not happy that previously approved members are having to share their spot with the newly approved paid ads. I’m still on the fence as to what to do, but this morning I moved their widget further down on my blogs – my silent protest to what they’re doing.

I am contemplating dropping Ecard too. It is taking too much maintenance with the dozens of paid sponsors now and it seems all the normal sponsors have just given up. I am not liking it any longer so if you drop it I would be in support of your decision.

I’m still unsure about Entrecard too and I’ve been trying to decide whether to leave or not.

I would, of course, still visit. However, I did a ton of sluething yesterday because of all the anger people (and myself) had and found you can turn off the paid ads manually so they don’t show up at all. EC didn’t publish it, but it is there.
Go to Your Account, click Advert settings, then click on the box next to “Allow paid ads only if explicitly approved by you”. Then you can use EC the same as you were before or you can approve some of the paid ads if you want to. If you don’t click on that ads will run on your EC box whether you approve them or not.

I would definitely read your blog even if you left EC. Having the widget to drop on is like a bonus. I don’t see what the problem is leaving it on, but if you decide to remove it, I’ll still visit your blog for sure!

Thanks for the update on Mountain Man Mondays – it is one of my regular reads. You have a great site and it is enjoyable to visit. I come to you via a bookmark instead of through EC as I am on today.com and we have stopped using EC due to their paid ad program. I will still come to visit with you.
