Ho, Hum (Or the Mountain Man Blues)

Have you ever had a day where you just didn’t want to get up? That’s the way it is around here at the moment.

Maybe it’s because it was 10-10-10. But more likely it is because Mountain Man is away. That being the case, I’ll just show you pictures.
We had our first heavy frost the other morning with lows in the 20s. Mist rose from the ground.

But it wasn’t long before beautiful, pink clouds appeared.

All day long, it was a fight between clouds and sun.

Which made for some beautiful scenery.

And ever changing light.

And with Mountain Man gone and having way too much time on my hands, I retreated to teach turkeys silly things.
Like the “down” command.
And how to gobble on command.
And for those of you who asked whether we are going to eat the turkeys, the answer is a resounding no. They are learning to dance and sing (video to be shown at a later date) because I have way too much time on my hands. And with that, I shall say goodbye and retreat back to the pasture and take a nap with the horses.
Hope your day is wonderful and thanks for visiting us.

Some days are just laid back and lazy. Just relax and enjoy it for it seems they are few and far between. Love the photos, especially the one of the horses laying around and napping.
My! the turkeys have grown and they’re getting so smart; who knew you could train a turkey? lol

The second photo is my favorite! I love when the sunlight hits the frost and turns it to mist. Gorgeous.

Goofin with the turkies was funny, I enjoyed that. Our colors here in CT are more out than yours but I see that yours are getting there.
I also love the landscape from just about anywhere on your farm by looking at the pictures.

Each scene has its own special beauty…and those turkeys don’t know what a special person you are that they haven’t been on the table for Thanksgiving or Christmas.
