First Snow!

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all your comments. They really make my day and make me feel less lonely with Mountain Man away.
Yesterday afternoon, the forecast was for snow. When Mountain Man called, this was our conversation:
“It’s going to snow!” Me, all excited.
“No it isn’t. You might get flurries but nothing will stick. It’s too early.” The pragmatic Mountain Man.
Well, this morning, I woke to this:
Khrysta wanted to know what had happened to the grass.
But I was excited. First snow brings back childhood memories and reconnects me to the past.
The day turned dark and windy. Snow became rain. It was a wonderful day to be by the wood stove reading books.
And then the weather changed again. When I went to feed Khrysta dinner, this was the sky:
An incredible, blessed day! How was yours?
This time of the year is like that.

oh oh oh oh now I miss snow (especially the first snow) so much!
I share your excitement and it is so beautiful.
It was a cool day here, for San Diego anyway. Which is good. I can't handle anymore heat. We did have a tiny bit of rain last night *gasp*. I almost didn't know what to do with myself.

I remember seeing snow like that in the country once the first week of June and just a few years ago about a 8 inches of snow….in October….glad it doesn't stay.
I like a white Christmas,,but that's enough for me.

It's been dreary and misty all day here in Tennessee. We're in that time of year when one day we're sweating in flipflops and the next day, we're digging out our mittens and scarves.

WOW! It really did snow a lot! I am so happy that your home now! We may get snow on Friday! I love the first snow also!! Poor Mountain Man missed it! He must be upset~

Lucky, lucky you!! It is so hot here in central Florida, the AC seems to run all the time just like July and August. It is like 100 and the humidity is terrible.
Predicted this weekend High 60s in the morning, warming up to 80. Yuck!!! Give me the cold! Your pics gave me chills, I'm gonna go stand in front of the fridge/freezer. I'm jealous, can you tell?

Ours was overcast, windy and later it started to rain. I have to tell you those pictures are great. I can't wait for it to snow here (of course on a day when we don't have to go anywhere). Stay warm up there!

SNOW!! Real live snow!!!! Sorry, I'm from Georgia! Just a few flakes is enough to get me dancing a snow dance in the living room to beckon a blizzard! Our day here was a bit gloomy and still too hot for my October tastes. Enjoy the many blustery days you have coming!

Holy snowflake! I can't believe it, I'm seeing the white stuff all over the blogs and it's not even Halloween yet! I hope the winter here is mellow, we had too much snow last year!
So far, just some rain sprinkles. I love snow days, though! I'm still a kid at heart in that way!

Oh YEY!!! How fun!!! What pretty pics!! How does the silly mare handle the snow?? My crazy Syd gets soooo frisky when it snows, and spooky, she swears its horse eating monsters when the snow falls from a branch. Too funny. Thanks again for sharing the wonderful pics!!

Boy, oh boy, winter is here unfortunately, we are getting below fifties this week and they say this time of year we should be getting 60 degree weather, no snow as of yet, just frost. Thank goodness! I know it is just around the corner though!

We've had snow all around my place, but not on my "hill" yet. I'm sure it's just around the corner. Guess I'm close enought to Lake Champlain to keep it at bay for a while yet.

Great photos, I love the one of Khrysta looking perplexed at her grazing fields. Horses are so funny! I am good, thanks for asking, I've been busy enjoying our first Rain in 7 months and cool weather from 100F to now 60F, ah Paradise!

You took some outstanding snowflake photos. Makes me want to try to get some snowflake photos.
The moisture was good, I'm sure. We are trying to get the barn put up so we are hoping the rain and snows stay away for awhile.
It's cold here! BRRRRR and dark and cloudy, with some spitting rain.
I'm inside while Terry is working on the gravel before the cement comes.
Oh, well, I fix him a nice warm lunch.

Too early for snow – but it came here in NH on Oct 16 and 18. Nice days since with no snow, but a few with hard rain.
