Eye Candy

Eye candy. What’s the first thought that pops into your head?

Perhaps it’s hunky Chippendale dancers. Perhaps not.

What about Pioneer Woman’s husband, Marlboro Man, who undeniably has the most famous posterior view in the blogging world? Ah, but I think my Mountain Man’s posterior could also win a prize.

Alas, I’m no longer suffering from raging hormones so the first thing that pops into my mind when I see my beloved Mountain Man from behind is “how can he be so thin?” You see, just like my horses, I enjoy feeding time all too well.

At my vast age, eye candy is defined somewhat differently. For me, it’s bucolic scenery; animals grazing on green pasture, wide open spaces.

I decide to sit a while (maybe that’s why my derriere is so large) and gaze at our beautiful Vermont clouds; so low you can reach out and touch them. I know, I know, I’ve said that a 100 times before.

But soon I have company.

Better stand up or they’ll all be sitting on my lap. And I think I must be eye candy for my Bella. She loves to rest her head on my ample chest. I guess it’s pretty comfortable as chests go.

I distract her long enough to pose for the camera but she still keeps one eye on me.

We stay enmeshed until I need to sit again and I send her on her way where she immediately finds another friend. Donkeys are not known for being independent, solitary creatures.

Time to move on. I need to search for one of my chickens. She’s been missing a couple of days and although I’ve looked everywhere, I can’t find her. Something catches my eye in our shavings pile.

I try scaling the stuff and it’s like walking through a bog. It keeps sucking me down but I’m determined to get to the top. There, I discover a guinea sitting on top of a turkey guarding another pile of eggs. Seriously, if all these eggs hatch, I’ll be rehoming more than latte bowls or Mountain Man will be rehoming me.

I walk into the Poultry Palace where another turkey hen has been hard at work sitting on more eggs. I decide to move her over to count the eggs and what should pop up? My missing chicken! Seems my chicken has been sitting on her eggs and my turkey has been sitting on the chicken who has been sitting on the eggs. Do crazy things just happen here?

I leave them to their nesting and try to have a stern talk with my tom but he’s too busy strutting his stuff. Eye candy for my girls who are definitely hormonal.

Oh, well time to find my true eye candy. I prefer him from this view.

And that’s the way it is on Red Pine Mountain these days. How do you define eye candy?

Well hubby is my eye candy too.

Then there are those cruise ships that make me smile.

There there is my great grand baby Audi.

Oh the list goes on and on.

Have a terrific day. :)

My eye candy is the same as yours, only I put Terry in MM’s place. :)

I also think ….how can Terry be so thin…I’m back on another diet to try and loose 20 pounds. Ugh.

Well, there’s no handsome man in my life – thpugh I do have three handsome sons. I find beauty in all sorts of things, too numerous to mention – nature, the ocean, moutains, babies, to name a few, though!

So cute how much Bella loves you! No surprise at Mountain Man staying thin–it seems he’s constantly on the go!

My eye candy was your post today. Enjoyed so much seeing Bella’s cuddling with everybody, and your chicken and hen just sitting around waiting for whoever to enter the world. Another nice visit to your corner of the world. You’re so fortunate to be there.

I laughed at the bosom shot, that is just too precious! I also laughed at the turkey on the chicken on the eggs, sort of like, there’s a boat on the log on the hole in the bottom of the sea, LOL.
Love your photos as always. I liked your earlier post of rehoming things, feel free to post things that need rehoming, though I would prefer a trade…perhaps you’d like some jewelry in exchange to make it fair? :)
Have a great weekend!

Unfortunately my eye candy would be just that: dark chocolate truffles.

Seems Mr. Tom Turkey has become eye candy to all the turkey hens and, as I think I once mentioned, if they continue to produce in this fashion your Red Mountain retreat will soon be a turkey farm with turkeys as far as the eye can see. :D
I still can’t get over the nesting habits of your flock. Is it really still so chilly on the mountain that they need to double up on the nests to provide sufficient warmth for incubation, or are they just very social birds, or maybe their maternal instincts are in overdrive ? :)

MM is always busy the way my husband is. They stay in shape that way. My sewing tends to give me a fat butt. LOL Bella is so sweet.

Hmmmm….my hubby is my ‘eye candy’ and he has a very nice posterior I might add. Like you though….my hormones have stopped raging but I still like to get a glimpse now and again ;) At the moment though my eye candy is the shade garden I’m working on and the house as we try and paint in between windy days. I don’t know where our May weather has gone because it’s more like March around here! I hope your weather is better than ours. Enjoy all your broody hens…I’ve got 5 hens hogging the nesting boxes at the moment but I think I’ll take one of them and give her some eggs to hatch. At least one of them will be happy. Love the picture of your little donkey leaning it’s head on you…how sweet. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Your eye candy is amazing! Love the scenery. :-) For me, eye candy is a fine man and I’ve never thought about it being anything else like nature’s beauty or whatever. Great post.
