Disappearances

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a film crew at your house? Well, I can tell you it’s chaotic and trying, but in the end it’s fun to be able to watch a movie and recognize your home.

Red Pine Mountain was chosen to be a small part of the movie “Disappearances,” starring Kris Kristofferson and Genvieve Bujold. Although many parts of the beautiful Northeast Kingdom were used in the making of this movie, our barn and our road and one of our beautiful views was immortalized in film.

I thought for the movie buffs out there, I’d take my own photos. A couple of years have gone by and the season is not the same and, of course, there are no actors but here’s my attempt to show you some of the scenes that included Red Pine Mountain. If you do decide to watch the movie, you’ll understand why we think the Northeast Kingdom (and especially Red Pine Mountain) a beautiful place to live.

It sure is beautiful there. You are very blessed. I just watched the trailer for the movie and it looks good! I think I will stop and rent it on my way home. Then when I see your barn, I can turn to my husband and daughter and say “hey, that’s my blogging buddies barn”! And then they will want proof, which you have just provided. Fun times.

Because several of you are planning to rent the movie, maybe this will help you pinpoint us.
We’re the farm used when they visit the logger. That’s our wood, our sawmill and our property. That is our actual driveway and the road which leads to our farm (we live on a dirt road).
And, the final scene in the movie is the view from the top of our mountain.
I hope you enjoy the movie and if you fall in love with the Northeast Kingdom, maybe you’ll want to visit.z72p3686green10andrew
