Christmas Shopping

First, I would like to thank everyone for your well wishes and concern. I am happy to report I am fine once again. The infection receded quickly and I’m sure glad because being idle is very difficult. I would like to thank Chris for her many suggestions on improving my immune system. I’m really thankful this infection didn’t get out of hand. That’s my Christmas gift this year but there’s also shopping to be done so why not gifts from the heart made by our very own fellow bloggers?

Give these links a click. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. We have some very talented people out there in our virtual world.

The first blogger runs a shop on Etsy called “Woolies.” In addition to beautiful knitwear for both adults and children, she also makes stuffed animals and decorations, purses and slippers. If you are shopping for a child or an adult who would love a special handmade item, you really need to visit her shop to see how talented she is.

My next blogger, Karen Zemek, has written a book entitled “My Funny Dad, Harry.” Through Karen’s eyes, we learn about the remarkable man who was her father. Not only is the book a great read but it is also filled with pictures which help provide a complete picture of an extraordinary man. Poignant, funny, heartwarming and fascinating, Karen’s book makes a great gift for anyone. Do you have teachers on your shopping list? Don’t know what to get them? I would suggest this book. Grandmothers, grandfathers, aunts, uncles will all find joy in reading about Harry Arlettaz. And, don’t forget to purchase a copy for yourself. You can buy Karen’s book at either Amazon.com or through her blog, “My Funny Dad, Harry.”

Next is Apron Frenzy, created by Vixen’s Den. At the moment, Vixen is caring for a toddler who is in a cast but she still has some aprons for sale. You can either shop at her Etsy store or contact her directly for a custom made apron. I have a beautiful custom made Thanksgiving apron and I have found many uses for it. My favorite use is to wear it over my clothes so the slime from our newfoundland does not stick to me.

Last but never least, I would like to highlight a product that is very special to me because it is invented by and made by one of our friends. The product is called “Cordsolver.” Now, if you are shopping for that man in your life and you want a fantastic stocking stuffer, you have to get him a Cordsolver. This is a product Mountain Man uses all the time (in fact he couldn’t have built my barn without it) and one he endorses without hesitation. Cordsolver keeps electric cords locked together so when using extension cords, they never pull apart. Now, you might say why not loop the cords, why use Cordsolver and the answer is to preserve the life of your electric cords. Also, it’s a great contraption if you have cats in the house that are always pulling out your cords because it can be converted to fit over electrical outlets making the cords secure. Okay, I know I haven’t explained this as well as Mountain Man would have done but believe me if Mountain Man uses it, it has to be good. And if you purchase one, you’ll know you are helping to support a small Vermont business.

Happy Shopping Everyone!

These are all wonderful gift ideas – thanks for your recommendations. And I hope you’ll continue to get better – health problems are such a challenge and it must have been difficult not being able to handle your normal routine with the horses etc. Take care.
