I haven’t posted in a week. I just haven’t had the desire nor the energy really to write anything worthy of reading. There are reasons for that which I shall share at some point.
Anyway, it’s still warm and sunny here. No need for long sleeves nor fires nor flannel sheets. And as it is on a farm, life follows a routine. Every morning, I let the poultry out of their palace. The chickens hang around the barn but the turkeys and the guineas follow me everywhere. Lately, they’ve started following me back to the house.

And if I don’t come out, they head to the back door and wait for me there.

After spending time with the turkeys, I take the dogs for a walk. Logan stops to inspect the pumpkins which are still growing in the unseasonably warm weather.

And then we hurry up into the woods before the turkeys can follow us.

Reds are starting to appear.

And the hillsides are awash in color.

And as I stand on the top of the pasture and look down on our farm

And gaze at beautiful vistas changing every day.

I remind myself how fortunate I am to live on our farm. But into each life a little rain must fall and I think of the quote; “the best thing to do when it is raining is to let it rain.” I think I shall dwell in the rain for a while and when I’m ready, I’ll emerge into the sunshine again.

Fall is my favorite time of the year by far, I’m sure it is beatiful up their during this season.

How is the big pumpkin coming along? Logan is gorgeous! I love the fall with the cooler weather coming in, but not so much in Florida though. I’m going to New Hampshire in October. We leave the 21st and come home the 25th, short trip. My aunt is 92 and want to see her once again as they don’t come to Florida anymore. She is the only one left on my father’s side. I love her so much. She lives in Rye. Counting the days til I see the leaves and the much cooler weather of New England. Love that the birds follow you around, so cute. Feel better soon!

I know exactly what you are saying. I have felt that way lately also.
It is still so very hot and dry down this way. Highs up around 96 or 97 everyday. It is nice to see your farm pictures with some color in them.
The turkeys and guineas are growing so fast.
The pictures are beautiful. You have the perfect setting for waiting for the sunshine to reappear.
Take care of yourself

There are more changes coming in my life and I am feeling very sad as my 66th birthday approaches in two weeks. I am having to move from my home of nearly ten years. Finally, after 18 months of not working, I have run out of options. The $2300/month rent is impossible to pay, even with my two sons contributions to the rent and I have been selling things on Craig’s list, crying a lot and wondering what is next.

My dear…it is apparent that something is(was) brewing and I will read on and pray forward to this moment in time-with you.
HAHA..turkeys seem to be kind of…freindly creatures? Funny how they follow you.
