While reading Karen Zemek’s blog, I learned about a site called “Blog Trotting.” It’s a great idea for a blog because you can visit states without ever leaving home and I was selected to write about Vermont.
I thought long and hard about what to say but instead of inundating you with facts about Vermont, I thought I’d do things differently because it’s the enchantment of the landscape that brings tourists to our fair state. So sit back, relax and enjoy a pictorial tour.
In Vermont, you will see horses grazing on mountaintop pastures while enjoying the view.

And if you enjoy hiking, there are acres and acres of vast woodland trails.

And summer clouds hanging so low in an azure sky, you could reach out and touch them.

Or perhaps you enjoy living in a place where your neighbors are deer.

And sometimes bears.

Or maybe, in late April, while warmer weather is in most of the country, you’d prefer to enjoy a snowstorm?

And the light in Vermont is unique unto itself. From mist covered mornings,

to dusks that light the sky.

Whatever brings you to Vermont, you will find seasons filled with enchantment and you will want to stay. It’s a place where dreams come true. Mine did.
(All pictures shot on Red Pine Mountain Farm.)

I have ALWAYS wanted to visit Vermont. It’s time i actually did something about it and made it happen. Thanks for the inspiration.

I’ll have to visit Vermont sometime. it’s beautiful…Your photos in many ways remind me of Oregon…I’ll have to check the map…cause I think our states are on the same lattitude? Parallel?..not sure what it’s called!!! The photo of the woodland trail…oh that reminds me so much of the trails I’d hike/walk when I lived in Germany…There was one right behind the home I was living in…and at the end of this particular trail was an old medieval tower. I”m sure that trail had been there for centuries. I’d like to think so anyway…it’s more magical!!! Vermont is lovely..Thanks for sharing part of it with me
Plus, Vermont makes my favorite organic applesauce…so that’s another reason to visit
Have a lovely, lovely day. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather

I’m not so sure I could take those winters, but it is indeed beautiful the rest of the time. I’m just not a snow person. Or a cold weather person. I guess I need to live in the tropics during winter and here in the spring, summer and fall.
Have a terrific day.

But…
Can I just say WHAT THE BEAR??!! I am as citified as they come and large wild carnivorous animals send me running for the closest Hilton. Eek!

Vermont is beautiful. I have never been there but I’ve seen plenty of pictures and movies that show the lovely scenery. One day when hubby is retired we would like to drive up to Prince Edward Island and follow the fall colors as they work their way down into Missouri and Arkansas. Coming from the mountains of British Columbia ..I miss all the trees and mountains and seeing your pictures makes me think of my family. Thank you for sharing your part of the world with us. Have a wonderful day….Maura

It is, indeed, a beautiful state and your pictures are an enticement to anyone to visit. I’ve only been there for the briefest of times, during my four year sojourn in the Boston area. I stayed in Killington, Vermont once for a ski holiday and also stopped once for a couple of days on my way back to my home in the Lexington – Concord, MA area after a Montreal visit. It is so beautiful in that area of the country. Of course, I wouldn’t ever consider living anywhere but the San Francisco area after 33 years out here — though, if I could afford it, I’d like to do six months stays in various parts of the world!

I visited Vermont when I was 18 years old, and was amazed at the beauty and friendliness of the state! We stayed in a bed and breakfast owned by a big family, and had the best vacation ever. I swore one day I would return, but it’s been another 18 years and I haven’t yet. Thanks for the reminder; your blog is gorgeous, and the pictures tell a great story!

It does look like a great place to visit, but a bit too quiet and rural for me to actually live there. You did a fantastic job with this post about Vermont. I enjoyed all your pictures. Thanks for the link love too!

Gorgeous shots! You’ve got quite a nice little corner of the world there in Vermont. It’s one of the few states east of the Mississippi I have NOT visited in person.
