At Long Last Warmth

Hurray! Finally, we had a beautiful day; 40s and sunshine. I put on short sleeves and spent the day wallowing (borrowed word from Lin) in the sun. Here’s some photos.

Of course, everywhere I went, my poultry followed and my problem with Mr. Tom has been solved thanks to an umbrella.

My idea of spring might not be yours. We had another 4 inches of snow the night before.

Not mud season yet but it’s coming. Going to be some fantastic mud this year thanks to all that snow.

I head out to the pasture. No grass anywhere in sight.

Minis are so short they have their own way of greeting you. First, Bella

and then Esme (my “Twilight” twins.)

The horses greet me too but they stop short of grabbing me. First Flower

Then Blossom

They’re cute from behind too.

And what a great day for a ride so I head on over to the barn to visit my best friend, an older Tennessee Walking Horse named Midnight. (Yes, I’m one of those people who love pink. Just ask Mountain Man.)

There you have it. A day in my life on the first warm day since well, I don’t remember.

Looks like a beautiful clear day where the sun is warm but the snow is still cold.

Hooray! Look at the sun too! Don’t you just feel so much better today?? Nothing like a little bit of warm, some sunshine AND a walk with your animal pallies. :) Sigh. Life is good.

Oh it’s so nice to see those pretty blue skies again in your photos. I’m sure you are enjoying that sunshine. As the days warm it will be interesting to watch the transformation from snow to green lush pastureland.

Glad to hear Mr. Tom Turkey is now minding himself, thanks to your umbrella. :D

Oh, boy, spring is definitely here in Nebraska. The snow is long gone and the sun is shining brightly. Today I started the winter lawn cleanup. It really felt good to be out flexing the muscles. Of course I didn’t want to over do anything and took frequent coffee breaks. :0)

I’m not sure I could live in your area of long winter months with snow in March. I hope that your weather warms up real soon.

Have a great almost Vermont spring day.
