And So It Goes

I’m taking bets on whether or not you’ll scream if I show you one more turkey picture. But I have to. So don’t look if you’re tired of turkeys. But I told you my little boy is maturing and look at him at 9 weeks old

I’m told tom turkeys fan their tail to attract attention from the female they admire and I do believe at the moment the female in his life is me.

What else has been happening? Mountain Man has been filling in holes the dogs have been digging.

And while he’s hard at work, the dogs have been relaxing.

And the horses, feeling ignored, have taken matters into their own mouths by letting themselves out.

And playing dress up deciding what they are going to be for Halloween.

Then time for a game of soccer.

Follow the leader up the mounting block.

Or who can get their mane to stand straight up

And if you’re looking for me, yes, I admit it. I’m hanging with the turkeys. Okay, I’m obsessed but who knew these creatures could be so entertaining.

Hope all is well in your corner of the world.

yes, my turkey has to be a boy.
Looking at your-mine is doing the exact same moves. I was told he might still be a girl, but i doubt it highly. Mine is a Royal Palm.

Your turkey grew some, didn’t he? Your farm looks like a fun place! Oh, I have a post that will surprise you next week–I hope to get it up. I saw a turkey and got it’s picture with its tail feathers all spread open, right in my city! I still have a couple more pictures I want to get before I put it together but when I saw that turkey, I thought of you right away! Gobble, Gobble, Gobble.

Your dogs must like all that land to dig holes in.

It is always good to read about how much fun you have with all your animals. I chuckled thinking about nothing better to do than to hang out with turkeys. My mind goes into strange places sometimes. We never raised turkeys when I was growing up. Our Thankgiving turkeys always were store bought. Just a guess but I doubt if turkey Tom will ever end up on your Thanksgiving table. I think I know you well enough to know that all your animals are pets and never considered to be future food. (gasp)

I wish we had some of those 40 degree nights you talk about. It was 97 here again today. I couldn’t wait any longer and had to pull out old Chomper the lawn mower and plow my way through the three weeks of week growth in the back yard. Four hours and a gallon of sweat later it was complete and I got to sit in the cool of air conditioning and sip a glass of ice water. Of course there were frequent breaks but not coffee during this work detail. I’m glad I got it finished because it’s rumbling thunder outside this evening.

I for one am glad that you are still at least keeping a hand in the blogging.

Have a great hanging out with turkeys day.

Oh my Lord, your horses are gorgeous! I may have said this before, but you see, I love horses.

Your dogs are cute as well.

I was afraid you might have changed your blog address, but I am happy to see that you are still around and I was able to find you :) .

Cheers

Hmmmmm, looks like those two can really dig some HOLES!

How funny but I love my turkeys, too. I could stand outside for hours and watch the chickens (in a nearby pen) and turkeys with their guinea fowl friends interact. (One thing about turkeys they’re friendly but so very STUPID! LOL) But if I stood outside for that long I wouldn’t have time to watch the mares…..aren’t or animals a joy?

WOW!!! Oh he is so handsome! I want one now :)
The horses are hilarious – I like the windswept look, now they have to do that in an obstactle course, where first they let themselves out, then they play soccer, then they give themselves a mohawk, then they clomb the mounting block ;-)

The pictures of the horses off set the turkey pictures. Just hard to get very excited about Turkeys. Mtn Man, lol. Got a kick out of that. Why not train the dogs to turn around and dig sorta the dirt back int he hole they create? lol

Around here, I’ve not noticed the dogs digging much; but they sure do bark, and bark, and bark. I think people living in the city should think twice about having animals. They don’t really have the room to run, to dig like they’re suppose to. I think they’re bored, and that’s why they bark continuously. People get the animals for their own purposes and sometimes aren’t really thinking about the animal and what’s best for them.
