A Ray of Sun

Hi Everyone. I haven’t felt like posting this week. It’s no secret I’ve been depressed by our never ending winter but I was excited when earlier this week, the forecast was for sunny skies and warmth. But this is what we got.

Yes, more snow. And on top of the snow, I’ve learned there is a reason the phrase “caveat empor” has survived the test of time.

There’s no better way to lift your spirits than to play with pint size horses who are the soul of patience even when you decide to give them a makeover. My friend says Mayari’s new hair style reminds her of the popular troll dolls of the 1960s.

And it’s fun to teach them how to stand at a mounting block. Rocky runs right over.

And lines up just like a big horse.

And then it’s Mayari’s turn.

You can’t be around minis without feeling better. And I do believe as of yesterday, the worst of the weather is behind us. The sun is shining, the chickens are out wandering.

And the fox has reappeared. And maybe it’s hard to see but this critter is huge. Larger than Lilly, our German Shepherd, which is why I think he might be a coyote. Do foxes grow that large?

No matter fox or coyote, there is a definite change for the better in the weather. And as always, Mountain Man has been hard at work creating stairs.

They now look like this.

And I know there is light at the end of this snowy and dark tunnel and I am grateful for the wonderful friends I have.

I’ll leave you with a question. Do you actively live your faith?

Thanks everyone for visiting us. May your weekend be full of sunshine and good friends.

You have a fox! It is a red fox…they are the largest of the species. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Fox Polutry is a wonderful food for foxes…they smell them and then they come.

I had a mother fox grab one of my chickens as she was scratching right by me. I tried to catch the fox and save my chicken but I wasn’t able too.

Sara, it is definitely a fox. I hope and pray that it doesn’t get any of your birds.

I do actively live a faith filled life. For me it’s not just about going to church on Sunday but it’s about the lifestyle outside of the church groups. It’s about the relationship with Jesus. As you know my passion is to volunteer to help with rebuilding damaged churches or building new sanctuaries for churches and sometimes even just helping those in need after disastrous things have happened. It all stems from actively living the faith filled life.

I sure hope that the weather will warm up for you soon. It’s really gone through transistion here. The days are pretty consistantly in the 60s with a promise that it will hit 80 tomorrow and the nights are staying in the 40s. I like it.

Have a great day in Vermont.

I agree with Linda, definitely looks like a fox to me too! Watch out chickens, hens, turkeys! Beware of the fox! Hey, you can actually see the ground in the chicken picture and blue sky, wow! We’ve had a week of gray skies but tomorrow we are supposed to have sunshine and warmer! Maybe even up to 80 for Sunday! Yea!
Yes, to answer your question, I do live my faith.

Lovely pics again! That fox is so beautiful. I know you have to be careful with the chickens and all, but please don’t hurt it… I hope you’ll get lots of sunshine! We finally got some over here and people are smiling again.
I do live my faith (wicca) every day. I couldn’t do any different to be honest. My faith is inside me, without it I’m not me.

The little chicks have certainly grown, they are nice plump ladies now. You may have to get a great big dog to help guard the Poultry Palace from that big fox. He or she is quite pretty but like all things in nature the instinct to eat and survive is quite strong.
