A New Game In The Coop

Oh, no, you’ve seen the title. You are probably going to click on through. Too many cute animals, too much obsession with those blasted turkeys. Well, if you think you have it bad reading this blog, imagine poor Mountain Man who has to live with my poultry obsessed self.

But for those of you who enjoy looking in on the secret life of our feathered friends, this post is for you.

There’s a new game in the coop called keep away. As with all sporting events, there are spectators who voice their opinions quite loudly.

while watching the action taking place on the field. The tomato is tossed. Will it be team turkey or team guinea?

Team turkey has it and takes the lead.

and quickly decide to take the game out on the field leaving Team guinea wondering if a foul should be called for cheating.

Reinforcements are called in and the chase is on.

Into the barn it goes.

Where the game is called due to the ball being eaten.

And that is that. But because I can hear you groaning and asking if this Mountain Woman is nuts or something, don’t despair. A new day is dawning here on Red Pine Mountain.

The mists are lifting.

The sun is starting to shine.

And all is clear.

And next post I promise will be about the hard working Mountain Man

And be turkey free.

Happy Halloween one and all!

Awwww. But I LOVE the turkeys and their stories! That is even better than Mtn. Man stories!! I will go along with everyone else if they demand turkey-less posts, but I will be sad deep down inside, for I love the turkeys. But then again, I post about smiling frogs. I guess there are 2 nuts in the world. :)

That is just too funny! I never would have imagined that they would play like that. They have gotten so big since you first got them. All you need is that sports announcer shouting GOAL!! :)

Whatever you write and photograph is enchanting because it is your life and a change from mine in San Francisco. I love mine, don’t get me wrong, but it is such a pleasure to share yours which is equally beautiful and interesting to me, in its own right. Keep it up, Mountain Man, turkeys, scenery, I always treasure your posts.

You’re very imaginative with a wonderful sense of wit and humor. Many people don’t realize how much personality birds have nor how clever they can be.

The photos of the foggy mist, rising from the lowlands are lovely but my favorite are the ones with the farm shed and the pasture surrounded by trees. Those are just beautiful and look as though they are paintings done by one of the great masters.
