A Farm Waits. . .

…for the rain to stop. Endless days of rain; hay needs to be cut, wood needs to be split but there is a beauty to all this water that surrounds us. Here’s some scenes from our rain soaked farm.
Water pours from the downspouts.
Rain floods our driveways.
Rain fills the construction site for our barn.
Shadow waits, anxious for dryer days.
Tire tracks are now waterways and filled with frogs.
In between storms, fog encases Red Pine Mountain

Your farm sounds like it could be in Ireland with all that green! We’re in a drought of sorts – rains keep missing us and everything is getting very crinkly, but at least we don’t have to mow the grass. There’s always a silver lining to every cloud.

I love seeing your pictures of your farm, rain or shine! It’s so different from Cleveland! We could use some of that rain here.

This looks so pretty to me. We’ve had ONE rain all summer, and it lasted approximately 45 seconds. The only thing green for miles are the old leftovers in my fridge.

Your farm is so lovely. And that continuous rain reminds me of here in England. We have had a rainy summer and it has rained off and on all day. Now that it is evening, the sun has come out and it is beautiful. And yeah, you are right, all of that rain makes it all really green. Our grass is about six inches long now, but it is a healthy green.
Thanks for sharing your pretty pictures.

Such a beautiful farm. We don’t get much rain here in New Mexico!

Shadow does look like he is ready for a dryer time.
Like the other commenters, we could use a lot of the rain here also.
The farm is looking great, even in the rain.
Maybe we will all receive what we need, weather wise.
Have a great day!

What beautiful photos of rain…makes one appreciate it…and it reminds me of my time in Vermont…on my way through while hiking the Appalachian Trail, and a year later spending much of Summer and Fall on a trail crew…man, did a lot of rain fall on me in Vermont, and, sometimes it fell when I was safely under the eaves of a store, eating ice cream until it stopped…it’s been a long time since I’ve remembered that…thank you.
